Asset management staff need the support of appropriate equipment and systems to do their job effectively. Some of these include:

• Asset management information systems, which can include an integrated system with modules such as the asset register, maintenance and job management, GIS, strategic planning
• Specialized condition monitoring equipment and services, such as Infra red thermography, vibration analysis etc
• Maintenance equipment, supplies and support systems, including well-equipped vehicles, spares stores - all kept in accessible places.
